The "RK explodes in t-minus X" angle is sorta common around CAOD these days, mainly sponsored by goons and everybody else who just sees this alliance as a waste of space. I haven't been an active member long or often enough to really say whether or not this is SMASHKILL's death-dance; I've always believed that if goons decided to hit Geminate they could make a terrible mess of things out here but wasn't sure they were ever going to. Now that the 'fofofo' has come to BWF-ZZ local, it's time to really start wondering whether or not SMASHKILL is going to hold together.
For awhile now, the general opinion any time that Goonswarm does something construable as war progress, is "R0ADKILL is doomed and we already have a list made up of which Warhammer 40,000 reference we'll rename each of your stations to." This is a popular propaganda tactic and a useful one.
However, I'm curious. At what point can it really, truly be said that the only alliance (other than a TCF hey-lets-pay-250-million-per-week-for-a-dead-end-hedbergite-system pet alliance) I've ever known is going bellyup? From what I've seen, the leadership component is for the most part secure enough to not have enormous drama issues and tear itself apart from within in a matter of less than a month, and the member-base itself seems to be either wealthy or punch-drunk enough to not stop x'ing up for awhile. My thought is that we won't really go down until sovereignty failures and station losses occur, which may happen soon in light of the current situation in BWF-ZZ -- but is even that going to be the killing blow?
From what I've seen, SMASHKILL has a kind of "drunken brawler" thing going in this little segment of space -- easy to knock down, but difficult to keep from getting back up for another go at it. Many of us, from what I've seen, don't really fight to be the best, but just fight for the hell of it. People x up because they want to see stuff explode or maybe want to secure the station systems, not necessarily because they want to bask in victory. Many of the fleet-ops tend in "epic fails" from what I've seen, but everyone on them still shows up again the next day, undeterred for another "epic fail" but maybe get something useful done first.
So, wondering... with every fleet-battle that ends in totalhelldeath, it seems that SMASHKILL has even less time to remain in Geminate. But how many's it going to take?
Dude you really don't get smashkill do you? Yes we have our carebears, every alliance has them, but at its core we have people who will not give up and LIVE for fights. To a real pvper the only thing this does is make it so we don't have to roam for hours to scrounge up a couple fights. Only thing I dislike is the lag and hell just closing local is good enough to keep the goon smack from being distracting. If smashkill does go down we are going to take goonswarm with us; because whether or not we live or die its going to take months for for goonswarm to destroy us and they will be left so weakened, they themselves will most likely follow in death as BOB dines in...where's your homesystem?
